Our client Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. will be performing this Monday evening November 14th in New York City at The Friars Club’s 2011 Testimonial Dinner in honor of Larry King at the Metropolitan Ballroom of the New York Sheraton Hotel. It will be a star-studded, celebrity-packed event filled with Larry’s friends and admirers. Katie Couric will host the event and confirmed attendees to date include Jon Bon Jovi, Tony Bennett, Robert DeNiro, Regis Philbin, Kathy Griffin, Joan Rivers, Matt Lauer, Dan Rather, Tavis Smiley, Wolf Blitzer, Michael Moore, Colin Quinn, Jonathan Tisch, Suze Orman, Judge Judy, Governor Mario Cuomo and Joy Behar and Steve Tyrell, the Grammy award winning producer of Landau’s album.

Proceeds from the dinner go to the Friars Club Foundation. In the spirit of legendary Friar Bob Hope the Friars’ “Gift of Laughter” program brings entertainment to soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. Comedians, singers and celebrities visit hospitals such as Brooke Army Medical Center, in San Antonio Texas and Walter Reed Army Hospital, in Washington, DC, to entertain the wounded soldiers. General David Petraeus recently bestowed upon the program a Medal of Excellence, acknowledging how vital and important the “Gift of Laughter” Program is for the morale and healing of our injured troops. There will be several tables of wounded warriors and veterans in the audience at Larry’s Dinner as guests of the Friars Club.
